Eight courts in a warehouse off the ring road, and the first club I have been to that seems to expect people to stay. Deep blue ceiling over the cafe, blue courts, green turf underfoot in the lounge.
The cafe is the thing that makes it work. It is big, and it sits away from the courts, so the constant ball on glass does not reach it. I worked there for three hours and took a call without moving.
It is also the most sociable of the Norfolk clubs. Sessions run most evenings, people talk to each other in the lounge along the glass, and the staff know the regulars by name.
Coffee is good and served all day, showers are clean and hot, and there is a recovery room with compression boots at the back. Food is fine rather than a reason to come.
